How has Interstate 84 impacted Hartford since it was opened?
There’s been lots of discussion online recently about how highways and car-dependent infrastructure have change our cities, with some claiming they’ve changed for the worse. I drive through Hartford via Interstate 84, and the shift from the nicer to the rougher areas of the city are quite noticeable. I’m curious as to what extent the highway has caused the disparities in the city.
What role did Connecticut play in the American Revolution?
I’m interested in finding out how Connecticut was involved in the American Revolution, since much of what I learned about that period in history classes focused on the events in Massachusetts, such as the Boston Massacre and the Battle of Lexington and Concord. I’d like to find out if any battles were fought in the state, and what supporting roles the state played in the war effort. Being a local history topic, there are likely good sources of information from libraries and historical societies.
